SUMMARY:Unveiling Self-Love
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the expression of unconditional love July 18th as we open Tiffany Nickel’s latest series\, Unveiling Self-love. \nThis exhibition showcases the strength\, beauty and unending love within the faceless and nameless depictions of various violence survivors from the area. \nA show meant for reflection but also a celebration of owning one’s body and loving it wholly. \nThis show is dedicated to the survivors at Mile High Behavioral Healthcare: The Aspen Miracle Center\, 40% of all proceeds will be donated to the program. \nWhile this event is Free there is a suggested donation of $5.00 at the door. \nThere will also be a raffle drawing for a limited addition print. Raffle tickets may be purchased for $2.00 \nSpeakers will be from 7:30-8:30 Rachel Overvoll\, Hannah Moon Krystyna Holland and Roxy Star will all be speaking!\n—-\n—-\nFrom the Artist: As a female artist\, I believe embodying a change in the way women are viewed is my province. Women need to band together to love ourselves and each other more than we do. We need to embrace our bodies and acknowledge and accept our differences. \nAll the women in my paintings are faceless and brightly colored. The reason for this is because my work is meant to be a representative of not one woman\, but of millions.\nThe women depicted represent any woman who has ever felt ashamed\, demeaned\, insecure\, overweight\, underweight or less in any way than she really is. \nThe series for this show is all about women who are survivors of violence. Each of them have exposed parts of their stories and themselves as a way to bring awareness to a severe and ongoing problem. \nEach painting will be accompanied by a piece of poetry to express a few of the emotions they might have experienced and how it has affected their lives. \n40% of any proceeds from this series of work will be donated to Mile High Behavioral Healthcare: Miracle program A rehabilitation center and safe house for women. \n**Given the sensitive nature of the exhibit\, photography of the art work will be allowed but not of guests.** \n
